‘Maula’ – Friend of Faith

How can anything be any different than what it’s supposed to be?
How can two bodies separate one love that has always been one?
Not possible
All these mental restrictions of how it should be make the arbitrary even more illogical

How can I ever be alone?
When every single second of my life has been filled with your presence
How can I ever be alone?
When every gasp of air has been filled with your vibrations
How can I ever be independent of you?
When you are the one who has given birth to my metaphysical existence
Everything that I am, aside from this body,
My thoughts, my ideas, my conceptions, and my ideologies,
My feelings, the worldview, my take on reality
It’s all been derived from your love
So how does it even make sense for us to be two when we’ve originated as one from up above?

You’re in my every breath
My every heartbeat
My tears and sweat
You’re in my smile
My every word
My passion and compassion
And in all my irregularities, all my flaws
It is from your love that I’m able to live with myself at all

In all my poetry, you’re the constant
In all my relations, you’re the prominent
Aspect that allows me to connect with another person
It’s your love that pushes me to unite with other essences
It is you I see in every body
And it is you I see in me
Because without you in me, who am I really?
That is not an equation by any definition
You and I can never be broken down into “You” and “I”
We are one in the same
It doesn’t make sense in any way sane
To divide water and name it as separate entities
Regardless of how it might be contained,
It is still water in its most elemental discrepancies

No matter where Life may take me
No matter where Life may take you
The directions may be opposite
But we will always be one
You will always be in me
We will always coincide
If there is proof of coexistence,
Then it is You and I.
